ABOUT US

You can taste the authentic tradition, history and love in the homemade tortillas and slow-stewed, flavorful chilis.

From a family with more than 40 years of successful experience making food-forward memories for generations of local families comes Isabel’s Amor; a comfortable, welcoming and polished Mexican eatery where we serve made-from-scratch dishes alongside a craft cocktail list.

Who is Isabel, you ask?

She is lovingly known as Nana Isabel, the matriarch of the Vasquez family whose beloved recipes have fed three generations plus countless neighbors and friends. Her dishes inspired the opening of the Vasquez’s first restaurant, South Phoenix’s Poncho’s in 1972, and the multi-location, family-friendly and fast-casual Someburros. Nana Isabel’s recipes were the centerpoint of every celebration and happy occasion and Isabel’s Amor aims to create loving experiences and memories for all patrons, just like Nana Isabel’s cooking always did for the family.

Feel right at home in our cozy, warm wood finished interior or airy-yet-intimate patio while being comforted by dishes just like Isabel used to make. Expect homestyle selections like tender slow-cooked chilis, flavorful carnitas, homemade tamales and tortas and flour tortillas made freshly in-house daily.

Whether you’re gathered with friends for sips and bites at the warm and welcoming bar or dining with the entire family on the airy patio, you’ll feel the amor.
